i just want someone to be there on my birthday
i feel like updating. i guess i will recap the last week.
Josh and I saw The Kingdom. Jason Bateman is in it. Pretty good movie with the exception of Jennifer Garner. ew

My grandparents' bulldog Willie Mays died. It made me really sad. Last night my grandpa woke up because he thought he heard Willie barking. So he went to the bathroom and their heater was on and smoking because it was overheating. It makes me feel good that Willie is still looking out for them, because they took such good care of him.

I had jury duty. It was really boring. At first it was interesting to hear what kinds of questions the lawyers asked. And to watch the defendant's reaction to peoples' answers. But they ask the same questions like 30 times in a row, and then they picked the jury before they even got to me. So it was a total waste of time.

Richie turned 26, so we went to his parents' house and hung out. Rode bikes, cooked out, went to a couple parks. The simple life.

This week will be busy busy. Going to stay in Iowa City while I have a conference in Coralville. Get to hear Chris Crutcher speak. He is an author and i enjoy his books. mhmm. He will be talking about censorship, which is funny because this lady keeps calling the library and asking us to remove the movie 'Bound' from our collection. She seriously asked if I watch all the movies i buy. I didnt buy 'Bound', it is an older movie, but I probably would have because it won awards. I dont think she likes the lesbos in it.

Im excited to carve and paint pumpkins soon. I dont really want to talk about a certain team from Chicago.
